The National Insurance Disability Scheme (NDIS) will be rolled out across the Sunshine Coast from January 1, 2019.
It is expected to create more than 1000 new, full-time equivalent local jobs in disability services, says Member for Maroochydore, and Shadow Minister for Employment and Small Business, Training and Skills Development, Fiona Simpson.
In addition, it will reportedly result in an estimated 88 per cent increase in the number of people receiving disability support.
Anyone interested in learning about new jobs and business opportunities should register today for a free NDIS Information Session hosted by the local Member and Member for Ninderry and Shadow Assistant Minister for Treasury Dan Purdie.
It will be held at the Mike Ahern Building, G01 and 2 Conference Rooms, 12 First Avenue, Maroochydore next Monday, November 5 from noon-2pm, with guest speakers from the Department of Communities and the National Insurance Disability Agency (NDIA).
