More than 30 high schools on the Sunshine Coast have already registered with a new online resource which is making it easier for businesses to promote their placement opportunities to young people.
The Work Experience and Apprenticeship Portal provides a free, user-friendly database for businesses and schools to access and match students with a variety of industry opportunities. The portal is supported by the Department of Education, Training and Employment and covers all industry sectors and all types of businesses.
It’s a first point of contact where businesses can stipulate what their desired attributes, skills and timeframes are for a person seeking work experience, vocational placement, school-based, part-time and full-time apprenticeships and traineeships and other types of employment.
