Next up, RTI Connectivity CEO Russ Matulich will unveil why the International Broadband Submarine Cable will place the Sunshine Coast on the global business map.

• In 2020, the Sunshine Coast International Broadband Submarine Cable will land at Maroochydore, providing Australia’s fastest data and telecommunications connection to Asia and the second fastest telecommunications connection to the United States.
• It is widely expected to stimulate local business, generate new investment and improve telecommunications diversity to Australia’s east coast.
• Australian-based Vertiv has been awarded the contract to design and construct the $6.6 million cable landing station. The cable landing station is funded from the $35 million total budget for the Sunshine Coast International Broadband Submarine Cable project.
• Independent forecasts have stated that the cable will generate up to 864 new Queensland jobs and $927 million in new statewide investment.
