Noosa will go off like a packet of crackers thanks to NOOSA alive! – a 10-day arts and culture festival showcasing the best of local, national and international acts. The festival of theatre, literature, music, dance, film, visual arts, cuisine and barrier-breaking forums is being held at Noosa Heads from Friday, July 19 until Sunday, July 28.
Founded by prominent Australian playwright David Williamson, author Kristin Williamson, internationally renowned violinist Brett Dean, environmental activist Dr Michael Gloster, restaurateur Leonie Palmer-Fisher together with Rick Clayton and Ros McCauley, the festival is proudly supported by Visit Noosa and Noosa Council.
Top acts taking centre stage at the festival include the Queensland Ballet; GANZ A Cappella; The Umbilical Brothers; Noosa Orchestra; One-Act Play Festival; Opera Funk; Festival Club After Hours official after-party venues for NOOSA alive! 2019 and many more.
In addition, free family community events on offer include the Opening Ceremony and Welcome to Country at Laguna Lookout, 5 Viewland Dr, Noosa Heads on Friday, July 19 from 4-6pm; Fire in the Sky (pictured) at Lions Park, Gympie Terrace, Noosaville on Saturday, July 20 at 3pm, Heritage Walks and more.
