Sunshine Coast businesses offered opportunity to ‘get up to speed’ with digital technologies

Sunshine Coast businesses struggling with the digital age have until the end of July to take up an opportunity to engage in digital skills training as part of a state-wide program called Get Up To Speed.

The program aims to make businesses aware of the opportunities available with the roll out of the National Broadband Network. It will also provide much needed skills and knowledge around current and emerging digital technologies.

The heavily government-subsidised program has been designed for busy professionals and will be delivered online from 28 July-23 October. It features:

  • weekly webinars
  • weekly eLessons
  • a private Facebook group
  • a dedicated online resource portal
  • access to mentors in each of the regions
  • formally recognised accreditation with a Registered Training Organisation.

The cost of the 12-week program is $250. A rebate of $175 may also available to participants who purchase an internet enabled device (conditions apply). Registrations close mid July.

Key dates:

19 July – A free Information session, to be live-streamed, recorded and uploaded to YouTube.

24 – 27 July Orientation Week, includes an orientation webinar for Gotowebinar, the system used for the program and general support to first time participants, particularly those who have low skills/experience with new technologies.

28 July – 23 October – course dates (first e-lesson emailed on 28 July).

The Get Up To Speed program is funded by Skills Queensland, presented by BroadbandToday.com.au (an amalgamation of 125 councils across Australia and New Zealand) and is being developed and delivered by The Creative Collective.
