Draft report examines workplace relations framework

A draft report by the Productivity Commission, Australia’s Workplace Relations Framework, has found that despite sometimes significant problems and occasional peculiarities, Australia’s workplace relations system is not systemically dysfunctional.

The draft report is a broad-ranging assessment of Australia’s workplace relations framework, considering current laws, institutions and practices. It uses an economy-wide approach, looking at possible reforms that, where merited, are likely to enhance the welfare of Australians as a whole.

You are invited to examine the draft report and to make written submissions by Friday 18 September 2015.

Further information on how to provide a submission is included on the inquiry website.

The final report will be prepared after further submissions have been received and public
hearings have been held, and will be forwarded to the Australian Government by the end of November 2015.
