Sunshine Coast leads the way on cleantech in wake of national event

The Sunshine Coast will be greater positioned as Australia’s cleantech industry capital in the wake of National Clean Technologies Conference and Exhibition this May.

Proudly supported by Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast, the conference and exhibition will see more than 70 keynote and industry speakers, 50 exhibitors and 250 delegates from across Australia descend on The Events Centre, Caloundra from May 29-31.

The event is aimed at uniting key industry stakeholders to drive growth, innovation and investment in the region.

Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson said the Sunshine Coast was leading the way nationally when it came to clean technology.

“The Sunshine Coast aims to be Australia’s most sustainable region – healthy, smart, creative,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“We already have one of the highest concentrations of clean technology businesses in Australia and Sunshine Coast Council is  driving sustainability as a point of difference within our region.

“Just this month, the Sunshine Coast was recognised in the Top 7 Intelligent Communities of 2019, sharing the global spotlight with communities from Canada, Taiwan and the United States.

“The award acknowledges how the Sunshine Coast exemplifies best practice in broadband deployment and use, workforce development, innovation, digital inclusion, sustainability and advocacy.”

Confirmed keynote speakers include Barry Du Bois (pictured), TV personality and sustainability advocate; Aaron Wood, City of Melbourne Deputy Lord Mayor; and Jimmy Khoo, Managing Director, Singapore District Cooling/Singapore Power Group.
