Sunshine Coast photographers are encouraged to focus their cameras on the region and submit their images in the Federal Government’s inaugural MyRegion National Photographic competition.
The competition was a unique opportunity to highlight the images, icons, architecture and characters which made this region special.
Photographers of all ages are invited to submit images taken over the past year to showcase the people, places, wildlife, landscapes and nature of the Sunshine Coast.
First prize winners in each category will receive vouchers for new equipment, with second and third prize winners receiving selected Adobe software and a subscription to the Australian Photo Magazine, respectively.
One lucky person will also win a personal workshop with guest judge, Australian award-winning photographer Steve Parish OAM.
The community will be able log on to the MyRegion website to see and comment on the entries and select their favorite image.
RDA Sunshine Coast encourage Sunshine Coast residents to pick up their camera and capture the unique images of our region, which is an important part of Australia’s culture.
The competition closes on 26 June 2011 and the winning photos will be exhibited at the National film and Sound Archive in July.
