National Rural Women’s Conference 2013 – 18-20 February 2013
Registrations for one of the biggest gatherings of rural, regional and remote women in the country opened Monday 8 October 2012.
Those who register during the early-bird period – from October 8 to Sunday, 11 November – will save $100 on a Gold registration paying just $395 for the all-inclusive package.
The inaugural National Rural Women’s Conference – an initiative of the National Rural Women’s Coalition – being held in Canberra from 18-20 February 2013 is expected to bring more than 500 women from regional, rural and remote Australia to learn, discuss challenges, celebrate and share their vision for the future.
With excitement for the Conference already building across the country, more than 50 inspirational women will be sharing their experiences with presentations on the topics of Big…inspiration, Big…challenges, Big…business and Big…networks.
The first Mayor of the Northern Territory’s, Tiwi Islands, Lynette De Santis, will join celebrity cook Maggie Beer, Fashion Designer Liz Davenport, and Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Elizabeth Broderick as a keynote speaker at the Conference.
National Rural Women’s Coalition Chair, Cr Darriea Turley, said Lynette was well-known for breaking ground and challenging the status quo and would speak about her experiences as a Tiwi Island woman and ultimately becoming the community leader.
Cr Turley said the Conference’s concurrent speakers came from a diverse range of backgrounds from right across Australia. “Founder of the 10thousandgirl campaign, Zoe Lamont, CEO of I’m Not Fussy, Rebel Black, the National Program Manager of Women in Global Business, Cynthia Balogh and Chair of the Australian Women Against Violence Alliances, Julie Oberin, are just some of the fabulous speakers on the program,” she said.
“So to make sure you can hear these fantastic women discuss their unique experiences, as well as network with them and others, register early to ensure you have a position.”
With only limited delegate places available once the early-bird registration period closes the standard Gold registration fee of $495 will be in place from Monday, 12 November to Sunday, 20 January 2013.
