Regional economic development expert and strategic business consultant Estella Rodighiero has been appointed as the new CEO for Regional Development Australia (RDA) Sunshine Coast.
Ms Rodighiero has 20 years’ experience in regional economic, employment and tourism development in the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay and Cairns regions.
Previously, Ms Rodighiero worked as Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Advisory Institute in Brisbane and was the Chief Executive Officer of RDA Moreton Bay (formerly the Moreton Bay Coast and Country Area Consultative Committee) for 10 years.
RDA Sunshine Coast Chair Tony Riddle said Ms Rodighiero had extensive experience in business planning and economic development, including jobs and skills development.
“We are excited to have someone of this calibre and experience join our team, enabling her to hit the ground running to further RDA programs and initiatives in our region.
“Estella has been a representative on many advisory boards, liaising with the highest levels of government about regional issues Australia-wide.
“Our priorities for the Sunshine Coast are economic development, innovation and investment in infrastructure. Estella will further our reach and build on the work of previous committees and staff,” Mr Riddle said.
Ms Rodighiero said RDA Sunshine Coast was uniquely positioned to advocate for local projects in collaboration with businesses, the community and all three levels of government to make a positive impact through the delivery of regional services and programs.
“I look forward to working with all stakeholders who are making a real difference with on-the-ground projects that encourage economic growth and jobs creation for the Sunshine Coast,” she said.
Mr Riddle also thanked Interim CEO Anne Lawrence for her support to ensure continuity and a smooth transition during the recruitment process.
“Mrs Lawrence, who has been working with RDA Sunshine Coast for more than two years, will continue to provide ongoing support to our stakeholders and collaborative projects.”
