People of Australia Ambassadors – Nominations now open

Nomination information

The People of Australia Ambassadors Program honours people who embody the principles
of Australia’s Multicultural Policy and have a strong commitment to inclusion, social
cohesion and actions which unite all Australians.

People of Australia Ambassadors are appointed for 12 months and are an important and
critical link providing feedback from local communities on issues of interest to the Council
and the Australian Government.

Communities and individuals can nominate a candidate for the People of Australia
Ambassador program in recognition of their work with diverse and ethnic communities.
Nominations of young people and people from regional and rural areas are strongly
encouraged. Self-nominations are not accepted.
Nominations will be considered by the Australian Multicultural Council.

How to nominate
Complete all the details in the form. Remember to provide as much relevant detail about
the candidate’s contribution as possible. You may attach additional information supporting
the nomination such as newspaper articles, referee reports or resumes to this nomination
form. Nominees will be subject to a security and character check.
Closing date

Nominations close on Sunday 3 February 2013.

Nominate by email: scan and email the completed nomination form and any additional
material to ambassadors@amc.gov.au.
Nominate by post: Envelope the completed nomination form and any additional material
and post to: AMC Secretariat, PO Box 25, Belconnen ACT 2616
