Share Space is the newest coworking space set to open its doors in Maroochydore on 9 March, connecting freelancers, virtual employees and savvy entrepreneurs.
The space has been designed to meet the ever-increasing demand for affordable and flexible working environments on the Sunshine Coast, joining the likes of Noosa Boardroom (Noosa), Duke Douglas (Sunshine) and The Loft Project (Peregian Beach).
Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast CEO Russell Mason, who has been instrumental in the research carried out under the Digital Work Hub Project, said there was a pent-up demand for coworking spaces on the coast.
“There’s a lot of interest and many people who will want (this business) to be successful,” he said.
“We believe there is room in the region, not just in Maroochydore, for a large number of these spaces. This is the future of working environments and there’s going to be more demand for them.”
Creating a multi-use space for creatives to come together with the shared purpose of productivity, collaboration and creation, the new Share Space business hub will provide more than just an internet connection and desk.
A dance school and bingo hall in its former life, the church hall has been transformed into a digitally equipped, open-plan, creative office space.
Copywriting and content agency owner Celeste Mitchell, and her partner Zac Gill, are behind the venture, which is set to become the go-to for those seeking an alternative to expensive full-time office rental.
“I know how isolating it can be working from home,” Celeste said. “As a writer I know my best ideas come when I’m out in the world, jamming with other like-minded creatives.”
A launch event will be held on Friday 20 March from 5.30pm for those interested in checking out Share Space.
