Family holidays at Mooloolaba are set to get even better – the iconic Mooloolaba Holiday Park at Parkyn Parade will receive an extensive $3.8 million upgrade, says Sunshine Coast Council.
The park, which closed on July 1, is due to reopen in early December, with the current facilities to be demolished and replaced with modern amenities.
The 75 small, powered sites will be replaced with 60 larger sites, all with improved access, new amenities including a camp kitchen, landscaping and improved connections to the beachside boardwalk.
A $500,000 renewal of the northern section of the Mooloolaba Spit Boardwalk will coincide with the redevelopment of the holiday park and is anticipated to be complete by late September, weather permitting.
This is the second and final stage of the $2.5 million boardwalk renewal, a joint initiative of Sunshine Coast Council and the Queensland Government through the Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program.
