RDA Sunshine Coast CEO Russell Mason welcomed a group of business executives and industry representatives attending at two-day Work Inspiration Master Class aiming to inspire the next generation of Australia’s workforce.
Work Inspiration is a national campaign which encourages employers to rethink the work experience opportunities they offer young people and provides tools to enable employers to develop their own inspiring work exposure programs.
In his welcome, Mr Mason told participants that social inclusion, particularly youth employment, was part of RDA Sunshine Coast’s charter, a theme also highlighted at this week’s Youth Prosperity Forum held at the Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast.
Kabi Kabi man Lyndon Davis (right) also shared some of his stories and experiences growing up on the Sunshine Coast during his Welcome to Country at the start of the event.
About 40 people attended the Master Class at the Ramada Marcoola Beach to share and learn about the Work Inspiration model which addresses two critical needs:
- The business need for employable young people
- The social need to equip young people for 21st century careers
