A night of celebration at the Old Courthouse

Building on the success of the monthly Nights on Ocean markets, the Maroochydore Revitalisation Association is hosting a fundraising event to gain support for its Economic Development Plan.

A Night at the Old Courthouse will be held on 17 October and will feature music, art and a local party atmosphere.

Maroochydore Revitalisation Association (MRA) President James Birrell said the event was a great opportunity to enjoy the food stalls, the Captain & the Duke pop up bar, and the old jail cells which would be transformed into a cocktail lounge for the evening.

“There are plenty of prizes which have been donated by local businesses, and those who RSVP via our website will go into the draw to win two nights accommodation at any Oaks Hotels & Resorts in Australia,” Mr Birrell said.

MRA is a not-for-profit organisation driven by a volunteer committee drawn from local businesses and the community.

The committee has facilitated vibrant events in the precinct such as the Ocean Street World Festival, and projects including street art installations.

A Night at the Old Courthouse is a free event and all proceeds will go directly towards MRA’s Economic Development Plan.

“The Economic Development Plan will result in a strategic direction for the precinct so we can all grow and prosper together, end ensure a vibrant cultural business and community experience,” Mr Birrell said.
