Major Projects Forum highlights job opportunities
Almost 200 people have pre-registered for this month’s Major Projects Forum to learn about job opportunities coming up on the Sunshine Coast.
The forum will ensure that local businesses are well positioned to benefit from about $1 billion worth of State Government and Sunshine Coast Council capital infrastructure projects rolling out on the Sunshine Coast over the next two years.
The forum, to be held at Lake Kawana Community Centre on 13 September, will be presented by Regional Development Australia (RDA) Sunshine Coast and the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI) in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Council.
The forum will assist business confidence by helping locals to tap into major projects being run by Council, Queensland Health, Ramsay Healthcare, Project Services, Department of Transport and Main Roads and Qbuild.
Key projects presented will include Queensland Government projects across a number of departments, as well as Council projects including the Sunshine Coast Airport upgrade, Maroochydore Bus Station, Sippy Downs Drive, Brisbane Road, David Low Way streetscape, Munna Point Bridge and Evans Street.
Representatives from a range of Government Departments, Council, Ramsay Health Care and the Industry Capability Network will provide information on:
- The projects to be delivered in the region over the next 12-24 months
- The types of goods and services they need
- What businesses need to do to be in a position to supply to these projects
- What assistance is available to businesses to meet project requirements.
Date: Tuesday, 13 September
Time: 3.00pm – 5.00pm (arrive at 2.45pm)
Venue: Lake Kawana Arts and Cultural Centre, 114 Sportsmans Parade, Bokarina
