Regional Development Australia (RDA) Sunshine Coast chair today announced the appointment of Mr Carl Olive to the key position of Senior Regional Development Officer.
The Chair said “Mr Olive brings a range of very important skills to the RDA Sunshine Coast position including the drive to get things done. He is passionate about the Sunshine Coast and has a great attitude towards the regional development role that RDA Sunshine Coast is fulfilling. His part-time role at the University of the Sunshine Coast will help cement our already healthy working relationship with the tertiary education sector.”
In accepting the position, Mr Olive said, “It is a great privilege to be in a position to drive real change to the Sunshine Coast. I am looking forward to working closely with the committee and community leaders to tackle the strategic issues facing the region. There are many challenges ahead for the Sunshine Coast and great opportunities for innovation and building prosperity. RDA Sunshine Coast is in a unique position to create a unique future by being open to innovation and fresh thinking.”
Mr Olive’s first task will be to document the committee’s urban policy framework – a comprehensive approach to balancing and managing competing forces on the Sunshine Coast. “The Urban Policy framework is a plan to support integrated solutions that support a productive, prosperous and sustainable future for the Sunshine Coast.”
