Kenilworth transport trial boosts accessibility

A new 12-month Sunshine Coast Council transport trial is aiming to give Kenilworth residents better access to Maleny, Nambour, Mapleton, Eumundi and Yandina.
The new volunteer-run Kenilworth Community Transport Service, which was set up on June 21, is supported by Council’s Transport Levy.
It is designed to provide residents with affordable, reliable and accessible transport to Kenilworth residents who live within 6.5km of the Kenilworth Post Office. Cost is $8 return per trip.
Participants need to pre-register via www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au and searching for Kenilworth Community Transport Service, or by phoning 5446 0122 or visiting the Kenilworth Visitor Information Centre at 9 Elizabeth Street, Kenilworth.
The service will initially run three scheduled services per week, but additional services can be arranged, subject to driver availability and passenger demand.
