Each year, the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) hosts a Navigating Summit, seeking to explore the value that cutting edge technology can bring to Australia and Australian Government Policy and its operation.
This series is designed by thought leaders and industry experts to facilitate debate and discussion on key issues relevant to the ICT industry and Government across Australia.
On 26 March the AIIA will shine a spotlight on IoT, and the profound transformative impact of ubiquitous and intelligent ‘connectivity’ on the economy, society, business and government.
Key segment themes for 2015:
- Transforming the physical economy and built environment
- Transforming the delivery of services
- Transforming the economy
The Navigating the Internet of Things Summit 2015 will facilitate discussion and debate around the navigation and management of associated challenges to create the best possible outcome for Australians with IoT.
It is predicted that by the year 2020, there will be 50 billion connected devices. Industry analysis indicates that IoT is poised to generate $4.6 trillion in potential value for the public sector over the next decade, and $14.4 trillion for the private sector over the same period.
Government service delivery and functionality will be positively disrupted in profound ways, across multiple areas. Service delivery such as transportation and health care, as well as the machinery of government, including administration and resource management all stand to benefit significantly.
