Leading industry experts in helping businesses and community groups to prepare competitive government grant applications will be the star attraction at Regional Development Australia (RDA) Sunshine Coast’s first free grant event.
RDA Sunshine Coast is hosting its first event in its Grants for Growth series for 2019, Top 3 Tips on How to Prepare a Competitive Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA), at the Maroochy RSL on Thursday, February 7 from 8.30-10am.
RDA Sunshine Coast CEO Paul Fisher will lead an expert panel discussion on how to prepare a CBA for large-scale infrastructure and community projects, drawing on successfully funded projects on the Sunshine Coast.
He will be joined by esteemed panel members including:
- Robyn Mercer, Principal Consultant | White and Grey Consulting
- Dr Latiffa Ling, Director, Commercial Evaluation and Management | Queensland Government Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning
- Kerrieanne Haggie, Industry Advancement Leader | Tourism, Sport and Leisure, Economic Development and Major Projects at Sunshine Coast Council
- Rob Hall, Lead Economic Consultant | .id – the population experts
Ms Mercer, (pictured), has a wealth of business knowledge and experience, spanning a range of industries and business models in Europe, Asia and Australia. She is passionate about leveraging her experience and knowledge to help create and build resilient and enduring businesses.
Dr Ling leads a team of economists and commercial analysts who provide commercial and economic assessments of projects and proponents seeking investment from the Queensland Government. She has more than 20 years’ experience in the areas of value-for-money (CBA and economic impact) and commercial and financial assessments in the public sector.
Ms Haggie has 25 years’ experience in designing and delivering industry programs, including delivering strategic level research, analysis, advice and community engagement on key government-led funding and economic development policies and strategies. She works closely with tourism, sport and leisure industries to attract private and public sector investment and advance industry outcomes across the Sunshine Coast.
Mr Hall is trained economist with 15 years’ experience in economics, demographics, statistics and strategic planning. At .id, Rob leads the economic team to provide the Local Government with high quality analysis and information tools, including specialised consulting services and tailored information products such as economy.id.
RDA Sunshine Coast’s Research and Grants Coordinator, Sarah Wetton, will also be on-hand to answer questions on how we can help you plan for major upcoming grants in 2019, including the Building Better Regions Fund.
