What do you see as the biggest opportunities on the Sunshine Coast in the next two years?
Infrastructure is a blank canvas – anything new will be very welcome. If we can make progress there, Asian tourism, leveraging the momentum of the airport upgrade announcement, would provide us with both diversity and prosperity, if managed well. And of course, the health sector should boom with our ageing population and developing health hub.
What made you want to join the RDA committee?
A few things: the quality of the other board members, the need for more proactive voices in developing (economically) the Sunshine Coast, passing on some of my corporate experience to growing businesses here.
If you could change one thing about the Sunshine Coast what would it be?
Provide more high-quality accommodation for national and international visitors. Our geography is wonderful but our holiday offering for these markets is poor.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Think straight – talk straight. Either one without the other is pointless.
