The Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI), which came into effect at the end of 2011, in a voluntary Australian Government Scheme to help reduce and offset Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions.
There are many opportunities for rural producers and land managers to participate in the CFI and generate revenue through the sale of carbon credits, whilst also benefiting from agricultural practices that may help make your business and land more resilient to climate variability.
Speakers will provide information on:
- What is the Carbon Farming Initiative?
- How can it operate for your business?
- What soil carbon, vegetation and livestock emission CFI methodologies are available now and in the near future?
- What opportunities and considerations are there?
