A “brains trust” of digital experts will be gathering in Brisbane next week to help show small and medium-sized businesses and the not-for-profit sector the incredible power and potential of the digital economy.
The CLICK! Digital Expo, hosted by Regional Development Australia (RDA) Brisbane and the Business Success Group, will be held on Monday 12 November at the Sofitel Brisbane Central, and will feature more than 40 exhibitors and an exciting program of seminars and demonstrations from digital experts including Microsoft, Google and IBM.
The free event, a first for Brisbane, will focus on the capacity of online and technology-based solutions to improve productivity and efficiency, reduce costs and create new revenue streams for businesses and organisations.
Attendees can learn about topics such as search engine optimisation, cloud computing, online payment and invoicing systems, website development, mobile technology, data security and privacy, digital marketing, social media and more, with plenty of case studies of businesses and not-for-profits who have taken the leap and transformed their operations through digital strategies.
Keynote speaker will be IT industry leader John Grant, Managing Director of Data#3, who is perhaps better known as Chairman of the Australian Rugby League Commission.
RDA Brisbane Chair John Shepley said the event was aimed squarely at getting organisations interested and engaged in the estimated $20 trillion dollar worldwide digital economy.
“Many small businesses and organisations think they are doing just fine with their old pen and paper ways, or they may even have the technology at hand but don’t know what to do with it. But the digital economy is not creeping up on us slowly. It’s now a tidal wave, and they need to ‘get on board’ if they want to survive the ride,” he said.
