How to get up to speed with the digital age

Small businesses across the Sunshine Coast can keep up with the digital age through the next round of the Get Up To Speed program starting next month.

The 12-week program is delivered online to give busy professionals flexibility with their study. It covers topics such as social media, website design and development, search engine optimisation, cloud computing, pay per click, online advertising and emarketing.

Yvette Adams, CEO of The Creative Collective, said every aspect of business could be conducted online these days, including communication, marking, finance and project management.

“If you do not have a clear idea of what is available to you or a clear strategy of how you can use these tools, you really are hindering your business and need to commit to getting up to speed with it all, hence the name of the program,” she said.

A free webinar will be held on 23 January and an information session on 24 January to give businesses an insight about how they can work differently in the digital age. See details below.

The Get Up To Speed program is funded by Skills Queensland and presented by BroadbandToday.com.au (an amalgamation of 125 councils across Australia and New Zealand). It has and has been developed and delivered by The Creative Collective.

The program is available at $595 with a $300 discount provided to Queenslanders through a Government subsidy.

Ms Adams said more than 380 Queensland business professionals participated in the Get Up To Speed program in 2012.

In 2013, the program is accepting registrations from across Australia and New Zealand to provide much needed skills and knowledge surrounding current and emerging digital technologies.
