Our community-based organisation’s vision is to support the creation of an innovative, dynamic, connected and sustainable Sunshine Coast.

As a Federal Government initiative, we identify local priorities, align resources, engage stakeholders and play a key leadership role in engaging our local community in change and innovation.

Our Team

Paul Fisher
CEO

Paul has more than 25 years’ international strategic and operational leadership experience, in sectors as diverse as logistics, international humanitarian aid, digital media and social impact.
He has performed CEO, Managing Director and Board-level (NED) roles in high-growth start-up SMEs to established national and global enterprises.
Paul also has more than 20 years’ experience in the Australian digital media industry, served on the Board of the United Nations International Children’s’ Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Australia, led commercial organisations both in Australia and across the Asia Pacific region, and previously a member of the Sunshine Coast Council Knowledge and Professional Services High Value Industries Task Force.
Paul has also coordinated emergency humanitarian operations in Rwanda and Kosovo for CARE Australia.
He has been the CEO of RDASC since December 2018 and was also appointed as a non-executive director on the board of the Food & Agribusiness Network (FAN). He also serves on the Sunshine Coast Business Awards Management Committee and the Sunshine Coast Regional innovation Project Team (#SCRIPT) Management Team.

Madalene Bettega
Research and Grant Co-Ordinator

Born and bred in regional Queensland, Madalene has spent the last 20+ years living and working interstate and abroad in senior roles in marketing strategy, brand management, business development and digital technologies.

Madalene is a valued board advisor and holds formal Qualifications in International Business, Majors in Marketing & Export, Certifications in Intellectual Property, Project Management, Health & Fitness & New Product Development. Also a practising Brand Strategist, Trademark Protectionist, Facilitator, Justice of the Peace, and a graduate of the University of Queensland’s Owner/Manager Executive Program.

Madalene is passionate about supporting businesses and organisations to become increasingly viable, sustainable and relevant. In her role as Research and Grants Coordinator, Madalene aims to support the RDASC in promoting innovation, attracting investment to the region and connecting businesses and organisations to funding opportunities; and see the Sunshine Coast established as an example of excellence, with RDASC becoming a driving force for inclusive and sustainable regional development.

Jennifer Swaine
Communications Manager

Jennifer has over 30 years experience in marketing and communications and has held a number of senior roles over the years while based in Sydney.

On relocating to the Sunshine Coast from Sydney in 2010, Jennifer started a three- and half-year tenure with Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers (STO) where she was responsible for the management of branding, marketing, advertising, social media, communications, all events and public relations of the firm. 

Jennifer left STO and became the Marketing Communications Manager at Wishlist (Sunshine Coast Health Foundation) where she was responsible for all the marketing/ communications and strategic partnership relations. Following her time at Wishlist, she then spent two and a half years with Ray White Commercial as Marketing Communications Manager before starting her own marketing/ communications and executive relocation business in 2017 – Jennifer Swaine Marketing & Communications and Sunshine Coast Concierge Services.

Jennifer is active in the local business community, writes a weekly business column in the Sunshine Coast Daily and is a regular public speaker and emcee.

She is the Chair of the Sunshine Coast Business Awards, Executive Committee Member of the Sunshine Coast Chamber Alliance and a Non Executive Director of Visit Sunshine Coast.
